Four weeks later..........

We have been married four weeks now! We've been riding bikes, having visitors, enjoying our wedding gifts and getting the apartment arranged. Today, we've been dating three years and four months - happy anniversary to us in two ways.

On Thursday, we did something that Wade has never done before; we went to a Fondue Party at Megan's brother's house. The experience was awesome and the food was great, but there was an interesting or should we say horrific first bite for Wade. Swiss cheese was melted in one of the pots that was used. We should have known something was wrong when Jason (Megan's brother) stated, "It smells like catfish bait." Trying to be adventurous and enjoy the experience, Wade thought the cheese would surely taste better than it smelled. Come to find out - not so much...and yes, it was strangely similar to catfish bait. The first half-second taste was worse than the smell and luckily it didn't come back out. It must have been bad as a few people were wishing they had cameras to capture the disgusted look on Wade's face.

The rest of the fondue party was awesome and the food was great, but we determined that the cheese may have been a little out of date. After that we played a few games of golf (card game) and headed to the airport to pick up our friend Kelly.

Our Mainely Honeymoon

Here is just a little glimpse into the beauty of Maine! Wade and I enjoyed our honeymoon trip to Bar Harbor, Maine. We also spent a couple days in Portland, Maine, and drove the scenic route along the coast to/from Bar Harbor. Bar Harbor is located on Mount Desert Island (pronounced dessert) and is right in the heart of Acadia National Park. We enjoyed a day biking through the park on the carriage trails and another day hiking to the top of the highest peak - Cadillac Mountain. We also spent a frigid afternoon out on the open seas to do some whale watching. The boat went out about 30 miles from the coast where the temperature was 45 degrees. We saw several finback whales out there and managed to not get sea sick! Our trip also included eating one of Maine's specialties - lobster. Other than a few travel delays, we had a great honeymoon trip!
